Val: Kind of made me do the "happy dance." While I wish the crisps were bigger, I love the flavor at the end. It would be good to put in a coffee, cookie, brownie, etc.
D-mo: Smells great when you open it. For me, I wish it was mintier, and the crisps were small enough to remind me of sand. Not a bad thing, but not great. The chocolate itself is excellent.

Val: Very smooth and mellow. I was by no means overwhelmed by chocolate flavor... kind of reminded me of a chocolate milkshake. Not as acidic as a Hershey's. Nice on the whole.
D-mo: I didn't find it supremely milky, but it was very creamy. I don't want to call it "plain," but it is. With that said, I'd happily get this again.

Val: It's really sweet. Not as easily consumable as say, a Hershey's with Almonds, because of the sweetness, but it's really nice.
D-mo: Tastes very milky. Even the almonds taste sweet (apparently they were roasted in cocoa butter). You definitely need something to wash it down, but it's real good.

Val: It's just a hunk of Cadbury chocolate... dry Cadbury chocolate. The chocolate itself is a good flavor (once you get it to melt in your mouth), but still not worth it.
D-mo: "The Intense Chocolate Hit?" I think not. It's chocolate shavings dipped in chocolate. Paid $2.09 for this import; won't do it again.

Maker: Cadbury

Val: Has a crunchy honey whip in the middle... kind of if brittle were fluffy. It's not too sweet, not too chocolatey. Good if you want a crunch, but don't want nuts.
D-mo: It's crunchy alright. It's a nice, light bar (almost too light). All in all, a good afternoon treat.

Val: It's good if you like hazelnuts. But if you don't, like me, it's still pretty good.
D-mo: The hazelnuts works really well with this chocolate and blends together to make a tasty bar with a great texture. Unfortunately, the label on the store said it was being discontinued. Too bad.

D-mo: It's been a long time since I've had a "toffee" bar that had the right blend of toffee and chocolate. It was perfect. Just the right amount of creamy chocolatey goodness and crunchy toffee pleasure, with almonds for bonus points. Highly recommended.

Chuao

Name: Potato Chip
Cocoa Solids Content: 41%
Website: chuaochocolatier.com
Date Added: May 30, 2016

Rating:
Comments:
Val: You can taste the chip, but the oily part, not the good potatoey part of the chip. Might be better with a non-kettle chip. The chocolate is very creamy, and the chip is very crunchy so it blends nicely, but I wish it was more a Lay's type of chip.
D-mo: Reminded me of the Hershey's with Corn Crisps they had a few years ago. Think of a much saltier Nestle Crunch bar. It's on the path to being a very good bar, but it doesn't get there. I like it, but not at $7 a pop.

Maker: Chuao

Date Added: May 30, 2016

Comments:
Val: Man, that is some creamy chocolate. Very good by itself. The marshmallows have no taste and are too chewy. The almond are caramelized so they're not really an almond flavor, just sweet. Overall, this should have been better. Judging by the picture on the package, and the description, almost feels like a bait and switch.
D-mo: The chocolate is chocolatey, but it's too smooth; not my favorite. I don't think I could eat a plain bar by myself. The marshmallows and almonds weren't really mixed it, they were more just random resting on the bar, and it tasted like it. That's why you could get bites of just chocolate by itself. The idea is ok, but seems the execution was off a bit.

Rating:
Comments:
Val: Tastes like potpourri. Tastes like someone mixed together some lavender soap and some really bitter dark chocolate. I usually like floral flavors, but not with this chocolate.
D-mo: Finished way too bitter. The sweetness of the blueberries and lavender really cranked up the bitterness of the chocolate, which was dark enough to begin with. Good effort, though.

Maker: Dagoba

Val: Wow, this was crazy bitter. And not even in a good way. As I swirled the chocolate around my mouth, it actually gave me a burning sensation on the sides of my tongue.
D-mo: I have to disagree. I didn't find it that bitter, which is surprising, since we're never that far off on our reviews. Nothing remarkable on the whole. Strong dark chocolate with a fruity finish, but I wouldn't seek it out. (Bonus observation: We have discovered what we call the "60% Divide." If it's a dark chocolate with 60% cocoa or lower, Val loves it, and I don't. If it's over 60%, Val can't eat it, and I find it tolerable. This chocolate at 74% is proving this theory)

D-mo: Very smooth, very minty. I wish I could have had more, but I couldn't pry it out of Val's hands. I am impressed though, as after two bars from this company, we have two winners.

Val: It was a nice peanut butter flavor without actually having any gooey peanut butter in it. It was very smooth and creamy. It was very nice.
D-mo: I really enjoy the fact that the peanut butter was blended in with the chocolate, and one flavor didn't overpower the other. It's too bad they don't make this in the bigger 3.0 oz. size.

D-mo: It's a nice blend of robust flavor of a dark chocolate with a creamy texture of a milk chocolate. A nice balance in a chocolate bar. Another winner.

Name: The Wolf Bar (Dark Chocolate with Cranberries & Almonds)

Comments:
Val: I don't like fruit in my chocolate, but this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The chocolate was a little chalky, necessitating a tall glass of water.
D-mo: I really didn't know what to think, but truthfully, it's actually pretty good. The cranberries aren't noticeable until you hit something chewy in the chocolate, but their flavor works well with the chocolate. That with the crunchiness of the almonds made for a tasty chocolate bar (obviously, I enjoyed it more than Val did).

D-mo:It's muy creamy like all of Ghirardelli chocolate, but without any extras (like almonds) its creaminess makes it lack a strong body. The flavor is still quite good, though I enjoy a "stiffer" chocolate.

Val:At first, it tasted like cheap Easter bunny chocolate, but the more you ate it, the better it got. It probably would have been better at room temperature.
D-mo:For an "organic" chocolate, this has to be one of the better tasting out there; but on the whole, while good, nothing spectacular. The taste did start off a little shallow, but overall, not too shabby.

Val:It had a slight "Pringles" aftertaste (i.e. mashed up dried potato chips). It was oddly dry and not sweet enough.
D-mo:I didn't get the Pringles flavor, but the flavor that was there, was just lacking.

Val:Wow! I really like it. I like it more than I thought I would. It's so umami and toasty with the rice and sesame, and the chocolate is so creamy. I really, really like it. I'd pay $10 a bar for this again.
D-mo:First problem is that it's an inconsistent blend, so some bites are more rice and sesame than others, and those bites are very, VERY salty. The rice and sesame totally overpower the chocolate which is a shame because the chocolate it good. I didn't love it as much as Val did.
